A place / A history :

Domaine de Lagoy is a large agricultural property just North
of St Rémy de Provence, near the Alpilles mountain range (4km).

The Domaine was bought by the Meyran family in 1677.
Its main feature is the Château de Lag
oy, listed building.

The Château was built in 1714, a few years after the Lagoy kingdom
was established in Marquisat by letters patent in 1702.

The Domaine, which has been owned by the family ever since,
is currently the property of Mireille de Sayve, grandaughter of the last
Marquis de Lagoy, who died in 1946, and wife of Comte Jaques Senard,
one time Ambassador of France at the Hague, in Cairo and in Rome.

The architectural features include, apart from the Château itself,
a Provencal Romanesque style XIIth century chapel
as well as a pigeon house dating back to 1636.

The monuments full of charm and Provencal traditions
are still to be much admired.

Benefiting from a priveliged geographical position, the Domaine is divided between an irrigated zone, used for traditional planting and an area on the plateau « Petite Crau », which is reserved exclusively for vineyards.
